About Sainik Schools
There are many Sainik Schools which are located in various parts of India and is run by an autonomous organisation that is Sainik Schools Society (SSS) which comes under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. All the Sainik Schools in India are in English medium residential schools affiliated to Central Board Of Secondary Education (CBSE). Sainik Schools prepare students to join the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla (Pune), Indian Naval Academy and other training Academics for defence. There are total 33 Sainik Schools in India.
There are also few Sainik Schools which are operated in partnership with NGOs/private schools / State government which are approved by Ministry of Defence. These new approved Sainik Schools are functions under Sainik School Society. These new Sainik Schools offer admission to the Sainik School in class 6th through AISSEE 2023.
How to Get Admission in Sainik Schools
To get admission in Sainik Schools students have to appear in AISSEE and qualify the entrance exam organised by National Testing Agency every year for class 6th and class 9th. Admission is based on the performance of candidates in All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination(AISSEE)

Candidates can apply online for AISSEE 2024 on the official website that is exams.nta.ac.in from 07-11-2023 to 16-12-2023 and correction window of details filled in application will be open from 18-12-2023 to 20-12-2023 and date of examination for Sainik Schools Entrance Exam 2024 is 21-01-2024 (Sunday).

Eligibility for AISSEE 2024
Eligibility for class 6th :
- Age of candidate should be between 10 to 12 years as on 31 March 2024 for admission to class 6th in the academic year 2024-25. Candidate should be born between 01-04-2012 and 31-03-2014.
- Admission for girls is open for class 6. Age criteria is as same as boys.
Eligibility for class 9th :
- Age of candidate should be between 13 to 15 years as on 31 March 2024 for admission to class 9th in the academic year 2024-25. Admission to class 9 is not open for girls.
Reservation in AISSEE 2024
- 67% of the seats are reserved for candidates domiciled in the State/ UT where the Sainik School
is located. - 33% of the seats are reserved for candidates from Other States and Union Territories (UT).
Within each Category of Home State/ UT and Other States/ UT quota, seats will be reserved onthe following lines:
a) 15% of the seats are reserved for the category Scheduled Caste (SC),
b) 7.5% for the category Scheduled Tribe (ST) and
c) 27% for the category Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non-Creamy layer (OBC-NCL) as per the central list.

- Step 01 – Visit the official website to fill the Application form of Sainik Schools that is exams.nta.ac.in
- Step 02 – Click on the AISSEE 2024 Registration and registration window will be open and register using your email id or mobile number.
